My mailbox is full — how do I free up space?
When your mailbox reaches its storage limit, new messages can bounce back to senders. Here's how to make room.
Free up space in webmail
Deleting in webmail removes messages from the server itself, which is what actually frees space:
- Log in at https://webmail.worldline.ca.
- Delete messages you no longer need — the biggest wins are messages with large attachments. Sort by size if your webmail view allows it.
- Empty the Trash / Deleted Items folder. Deleted messages still count against your storage until the trash is emptied.
- Empty the Junk / Spam folder too.
Keep it from filling up again
- If you use a mail app with POP: enable "Remove from server after X days" (or "after deleting") in the app's account settings. Your messages stay in the app while the server copy is cleaned up automatically.
- If you use IMAP: remember that deleting on your device deletes on the server too — that's how IMAP frees space. Periodically empty Trash and Junk from your device or webmail.
- Unsubscribe from newsletters you never read, and delete old messages with big attachments after saving the files.
Still see "mailbox full" after cleaning up?
Give it a few minutes, then send yourself a test message. If it still bounces, contact support@worldline.ca or call 1-855-299-0025 (Mon–Sat 9am–6pm Eastern, closed Sunday).
