How do I change my WiFi name or password?
Pick your modem model below. In every case, after you change the name or password, you'll need to reconnect each of your devices to the new network.
SmartRG and Kasda DSL modems
- On a connected device, open a browser and go to http://192.168.1.1 (click "manage gateway" if you land on a welcome page).
- Log in — username admin, password ekw7566V.
- To change the network name (SSID): click Wireless in the left menu → choose the band (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz) → Basic → edit the SSID field → Apply/Save. Repeat for the other band — each band has its own name.
- To see or change the password: click Wireless → choose the band → Security → scroll down and click "Click here to Display" next to WPA/WAPI Passphrase to reveal the current password, or type a new one → Apply/Save.
- While you're in Security, set Network Authentication to WPA2-PSK and encryption to AES — this prevents the "Weak Security" warning newer phones show.
Hitron cable modems (CODA series)
- Open a browser and go to http://192.168.0.1.
- Log in — username cusadmin, password is the WiFi key printed on the modem's sticker (unless you've changed it).
- Go to the wireless/WiFi section to change the network name and password for each band, then save.
Tip: on a brand-new Hitron modem, the guided EasyConnect setup (connect to the "EasyConnect…" network and follow the prompts at 192.168.0.1) walks you through naming your network the first time.
Vilo mesh WiFi
Use the Vilo app on your phone: open the app, choose your network, and edit the WiFi name and password there.
Forgot what your network is called?
Your network name and password may have been customized in the past. The factory defaults are printed on the sticker on the modem — but if the sticker values don't work and you can't get in, contact support: for many modems we can view or push WiFi settings remotely.
